At DLS we highly value sustainable, healthy, and ethically and socially responsible business operation and we take responsibility for the effects of our business activities on people, the environment and society.
People
Safety and satisfaction of our employees are very important. This way we prevent job-related accidents and find, bind and fascinate our people. This results in low rates of staff turnover and absenteeism (<2%). We have an open and informal corporate culture with sufficient awareness to employees and job satisfaction. We offer employees career opportunities and plenty of opportunities to follow training and courses.
A confidential counselor has been appointed for the safety of employees. In addition, DLS has a complete risk inventory and evaluation (RIE) to minimize risks for all employees. We also meet the strict standards of our American suppliers.
DLS wants to work with suppliers with a moral and ethical approach, and in particular with suppliers who act fairly and socially, and comply with international standards regarding fundamental human rights, the rights of children, and working conditions. To ensure this, we have our suppliers sign the “DLS Code of Conduct Suppliers”, with which we check whether our suppliers comply with the ethics we advocate in the areas of child labor, working conditions and human rights.
Environment
With our green mobility solutions we focus on making drive systems more sustainable. These solutions reduce emissions, or ensure that no pollutants are emitted at all.
We also do our best to reduce our ecological footprint. Examples of this are:
- Waste separation and recycling;
- Reuse of packaging material;
- Use of reusable cups;
- LED lighting and smart lighting control by motion sensors;
- Replacement of company cars with electric vehicles: currently 20% of our fleet is electric.
Society
With our business activities we try to make a positive contribution to society. As a recognized training company, we are affiliated to the Foundation for cooperation on Vocational Education, Training and the Labour Market (Samenwerkingsorganisatie Beroepsonderwijs Bedrijfsleven, SBB). With this we offer students the opportunity to gain work experience through an internship or apprenticeship. In addition, we also work with various social entrepreneurs/workshops, schools, and training institutes.
