Safety first when working on electric vehicles
DLS is increasingly focusing on delivering Green Mobility solutions. Part of this are (hybrid) electric solutions for vehicles. To secure the safety of our colleagues, our engineers, project managers, and technicians are trained according to NEN9140 to enable them to work on these electric vehicles in a responsible way.
Last week some of our engineers followed a course for this. They learned about the safety risks of and precautions to take when working on electric vehicles. For example, they learned how to make an electric system voltage-free, in order to work safe. In addition, they were taught how to protect themselves when working on high-voltage systems, to understand the risks, and learned how to work on these vehicles in a safe way. At the end of the training day all engineers went home with a certificate.
Our technicians go a step further and also follow a follow-up training where they learn how to perform diagnoses, maintenance, and repairs on electric vehicle components and systems. In addition, a strict NEN9140 designation policy has been applied in our company, and the management has the necessary papers to be able to manage the required work as a Work Manager.
