Zero emission in 2030: Mourik and Accenda build second hydrogen excavator
Mourik Infra introduced their first hydrogen excavator in October 2021. This Liebherr excavator was converted to a zero emission machine in cooperation with innovation specialist Accenda. Mourik is very happy with the powerful hydrogen-powered excavator and is now planning to convert a second excavator.
As with the first retrofit project, a new machine with tradidiotnal diesel powertrain will be converted to a hydrogen powered excavator. For the retrofit of this second excavator Mourik will cooperate with Accenda again.
For the new retrofit project Mourik and Accenda have opted for the use of the Toyota fuel cell module (TFCM). Walter Deelen, general director Mourik Infra: “We opted for the Toyota fuel cell because of its high efficiency, reliability and net output power in comparison to other brands. Another advantage is that it is a fully integrated and compact system.”
The TFCM will be delivered by Drive Line Systems (DLS). The integration of the TFCM in the excavator will be realized by Mourik and Accenda, with (technical) support of DLS when needed.
